Mojoring on Mangers

I really meant to keep it simple this year. Just home from a great trip, catching up on laundry and mail and the piles of newspapers. No kids or grandkids celebrating Christmas with us this year. Maybe no tree even.

But I couldn’t help myself. So I decorated between loads of laundry. And this year I realized I officially collect nativities. I love them.

Milton dickered for this one in the Old City of Jerusalem. I sometimes leave it out year round, I love it so much. I had a hard time getting a good picture of it though.
This one was probably made by Milton’s grandmother who I never met, but who I feel very connected to

These things redirect my attention. They anchor me, remind me.

I have three from Kenya:

I treasure each one of these. The Lord has enabled Ft. Knox Locks to support an orphanage in Kitale, Kenya; Great Mercy Orphanage. In the fun flurry of gift giving and getting, I want to hold the children of Great Mercy close to my heart.

I am looking for people to sponser students who have come through Great Mercy to get an education that will enable them to earn a living wage and give back to the orphanage. We, ourselves are sponsering a young man, John, who is studying to be a doctor.

This is Grace, daughter of Judith, the lady who started the orphanage. I am looking for someone who will sponser her to get a masters in psychology and counseling. She became aware of her need for more education as she volunteered at the orphanage. Grace for Grace!

***Education costs a lot less there. Please contact me for specific information.

Dear December, this has been such a strange year. I want to relish your sparkly lights, your music, your once a year delights. Please don’t throw anything crazy at us!

God bless, Merry Christmas! Eyes on Jesus!

PS: I would love to hear about your favorite Christmas decoration!

I love adventure, reading, my family, my brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world, quilting, Hebrew, and my appetite for life is bigger than my stomach!

  1. I also have a nativity scene i like. My mom and I did it together about 35 years ago. It is ceramic and I am surprised it lasted this long with no missing or broken pieces.!
