As Milton and I meandered throughout middle America, we passed a lot of Trump Pence signs…and American flags that seemed to droop sadly. There were a few Biden Harris signs too, a few. I have a lot of questions…concerns…fears. Before we left, the day after the election, I asked the Lord for a word; my heart was so troubled. And He spoke to me. It wasn’t the word I was hoping for, but it was His voice and immediately peace came. (Just a whisper my Lord, for your voice is so dear!) So as we drove through these vast fields and past gleaming silos, I am thinking and praying and asking; what is my place? What does faithfulness look like for me?

Anyway…we joined this thing called Harvest Hosts which is sort of like Air B&B for RVs. Our first night we stayed between Colombia and Centralia Missouri. Here are some pics:

We literally stayed the night in their driveway. The host, Ken Kossler, takes old ‘junk’ and turns it into cool stuff. He showed us his shop (I bought a piece of yard art made from needle nose pliers.) After visiting for a few minutes we had the rest of the evening to ourselves, complete with a fire they had prepared ahead of time.

We set off in the morning and stopped in Centralia to visit a beautiful little garden, Chance Gardens. What a surprise treasure in the middle of nowhere. Then we happened by a covered bridge, which may not sound that exciting, but we loved it.

This was just someones yard…he got inspired and now it is a gift for this little town. I wonder if my backyard could ever be this incredible!

The best part of today? Getting to visit Wesley for the first time in his home since he moved to Lafayette, Indiana where he has been for 4 whole years! The only sad thing is that Amber is away doing her travel nursing thing so we don’t get to see her. 😦

Wesley and one of our granddogs, Coulter.

Well, thats it for now. God bless. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus!

I love adventure, reading, my family, my brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world, quilting, Hebrew, and my appetite for life is bigger than my stomach!

  1. Wow! So very cool! I’d love for my yard to feel like a peaceful retreat at times and a fun party at other times. Hey to Wes 👋
